Salsa! Merengue! Huaynito! Ay! Ay! Ay! The embassy of Machu Picchu, representing Candelaria Sonata and her tesoros, wishes to suggest a cinematic experience for your consideration. They are represented by Ohio and Big Manzana screenwriter Melanie Stinson, who channeled the story.

I, Alma Solosabor, am her trusted assistant and the young star of the story, and I write to you now.

What do you do when your mother, a big wig events planner in New York who is from Perú, South America, and whose real name is Marisol Solosabor, says she’s from “The City” and calls herself, Miz Mary Aspiration?

Candelaria (my Tia) says you take a deep breath before you say, “Aspiration.”

What do you do when Mary stands you up for THE mother-daughter event of the year? This is an event for which she wanted to win the award as Best Mom in a mother-daughter relationship in this great US of the Americas, where all dreams come true–if you work hard and carefully hide the name of your birth country and your real birth name.

What do I do? I send this letter to everybody in the world on line who might help and to the Embassy in Machu Picchu. They sent my aunt. She landed in the middle of the Long Island Expressway at rush hour with dancers, musicians, her Paso Doble horses, parrot El Colonel (a talking maniac), and international singer Jose Antonio (mi papi); oh, I mean my father, once married to Mary, and not anything like my step dad Warren (big breath now) Aspiration, who is Mary’s boss and current ex in a line of Xs.

When I asked Candelaria for help with my large earth family, she said to write to everyone. She said that some of you out t/here understand doing things solo and you understand sabor (savoring la vida loca). Plus there’s most certainly a part for you if you don’t want to direct, produce, or otherwise put your stamp on the finished product, such as allowing us to share in your generosity of financial funding to take the story to the silver screen.

Tia also said that sometimes you have to import in order to export, so I can remit to you a real American-type logline/synopsis and not my crackerjack translation as a red-blooded Peruvian teen transplanted in the U.S. against her will.

P.S. Film version could feature the latest Latino music, as well as great music classics and dances from Central and South America, including salsa, ballads, waltzes, cumbias, huaynos, and more.

About the writer: bilingual, daughter of an American artist father with penchant for pre-Columbian art and a Peruvian mother creative arts teacher with 3 sisters and relatives in the U.S., Canada and South America.

Screenplay is in English and uses Spanish and Latin American art, music, dancing, and American as well as Central and South American characters. It’s a fish out of water travelling angel family-friendly story set in New York City.

A-list-actress type roles: Mary (Marisol) 40s, bilingual, could sing.
Candelaria (ageless), travelling angel from Machu Pichu, sings, dances, speaks as many languages as actress/director can imagine, and runs the story with Alma’s help.

A-list-actor type role: Warren, 40s+, sings, dances, and acts looney with regard to the love of his life and his billion-dollar multimedia business.

Lots of room for singers, dancers, choreography, and character actors who love having fun in creating fantasy roles.
